Creating a Vauz account
A Vauz account starts with a plan — including the free one — and finishes with a passkey. There is no password to choose at any point
You do not need an account to use the Vauz application. The app works on its own, offline, and your vault never leaves your device. An account is for the website: your plan, your family and your billing
Steps
Step 1: Choose a plan
Go to https://vauz.sealzi.com/pricing (opens in a new tab) and pick one. The free plan costs nothing and is a normal choice here, not a trial
Step 2: Complete the checkout
Enter your email address when asked. This is the address your account is created against, so use one you can read — everything below depends on it
Step 3: Open the email we send you
It arrives within a minute or two and is titled Finish setting up your vauz.sealzi.com account. Check your spam folder if it is not in your inbox
Step 4: Press Add a passkey
The link opens a page with a tick box and a button. The box is you agreeing to the
Terms of Service (opens in a new tab) and the
Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) — both open in a new tab, so read them first. You are asked now and not at checkout because until you add a passkey, nobody can get
into this account anyway, and the small print under the box says what we write down when you tick
it. Then press Add a passkey, and your device asks for your fingerprint, face or PIN
Step 5: Sign in
Your passkey is created. You are asked to sign in with it straight away, which also proves it works while you are still at the device
Things worth knowing
- The setup link lasts three days. If it expires, ask for a new one from the sign-in page — see Paid without an account
- An account with no passkey cannot be signed into. Between the checkout and Step 4 the account exists but nobody can reach it, including us. That is the point
- You are not asked to name the passkey. You can name it later from your dashboard, and most people never need to. See Manage your passkeys
- We record that you accepted the terms, along with the date, which version of the terms was in force, your IP address and your browser. It is kept as proof that the account and any payment on it were authorised by you, it is used only to answer a payment dispute, and it is never used for tracking or advertising
