Who is Sealzi?
Sealzi is the company behind Vauz. Vauz is Sealzi's password manager, so when you pay for a Vauz plan, it is Sealzi you agree to pay
Where you see the name
- In the website's address. sealzi.com is Sealzi's address on the web, and Vauz lives under it: vauz.sealzi.com is the Vauz website, pay.vauz.sealzi.com is our card page, and support@vauz.sealzi.com is our support email address
- At the bottom of the Vauz homepage, and of the pricing, download and legal pages: © Vauz. by Sealzi. and the year
- In our Terms of Service (opens in a new tab) and Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab), which both begin "Welcome to Vauz, a secure password manager offered by Sealzi"
- In the sentence you tick when you buy or change a plan, and in some of our emails, both explained below
"I authorise Sealzi to charge my card…"
Before you buy or change a plan, the Confirm your plan box on your dashboard (your account page at vauz.sealzi.com/dashboard) shows a sentence beside a tick box. You see it each time you agree to a charge: buying a plan, upgrading, switching, or keeping or resuming one. With a Plus plan paid monthly, it reads:
"I authorise Sealzi to charge my card C$4.70 plus applicable tax today and every month until I cancel, under the Terms of Service. Cancelling stops future payments and I keep my plan until the end of the period I paid for"
The price, the day and month or year change with the plan you pick. Part by part:
| The words | What they mean |
|---|---|
| I authorise Sealzi | To authorise is to give permission. You give Sealzi, the company behind Vauz, permission to take the payment |
| to charge my card C$4.70 | The plan's price, in Canadian dollars, before tax. It is taken from the card you saved with Helcim, our payment processor. See What is Helcim? |
| plus applicable tax | Sales tax is added on top. Applicable means whichever tax applies to you, which depends on your province. See Why is tax added? |
| today, or on a date | When the first payment is taken. It is a later date when your new plan starts later, or when time you have already paid for covers it first |
| and every month (or every year) until I cancel | The plan renews: the same payment is taken again each month or each year, by itself, until you cancel. See How paying works |
| under the Terms of Service | The rules in our Terms of Service apply to this payment: renewing, changing plans, cancelling, refunds and failed payments. In the box, those words are a link, so you can read the Terms first |
| Cancelling stops future payments | You can cancel at any time from your dashboard, and nothing more is charged after that. See Choose, change or cancel your plan |
| and I keep my plan until the end of the period I paid for | Cancelling does not cut your plan off. You keep it until the month or year you paid for runs out. The exception: if a renewal payment didn't go through and is still being tried again, cancelling ends the plan straight away. A plan you booked to start later is simply dropped, and nothing is charged for it. For money already paid, see Refunds |
Nothing is charged until you tick the box and press the button below it. Press the button without ticking and the box says "Tick the box above to continue"
We keep a record of the exact sentence you agreed to, and when. It is there to show your bank that you agreed, if a payment is ever questioned
"Sealzi can never read it"
Some of our emails, such as Your vauz.sealzi.com account is ready and A passkey was added to your vauz.sealzi.com account, include this note near the end:
"Your vault isn’t affected. It is encrypted on your own device and Sealzi can never read it. An account passkey signs you in to the website, nothing else"
Your vault is where the Vauz app keeps your passwords. Encrypted means locked up in a code. The note is there because these emails are about your vauz.sealzi.com account (your plan, your family and your passkeys), and your account never sees your vault: it stays on your own device. It names Sealzi because Sealzi is the company behind the website the email came from
Our emails come from Vauz, at support@vauz.sealzi.com. To check one, see Is this email really from Vauz?. For anything else about Vauz or Sealzi, write to support@vauz.sealzi.com
