Import your logins into the Vauz 2 beta
What the beta can import
- Files exported from Vauz 2: JSON, CSV or TXT, or an encrypted .vauz file
- CXF files, the Credential Exchange Format some password managers can export
The beta can't import a file exported from Vauz 1.x yet, or the CSV files other password managers and browsers export. For an encrypted file from Vauz 1.x, Vauz says Exported by a Vauz this version can't read. For the others it says Vauz can't read this file: it isn't a Vauz export
Import your files
Open Import / Export
Choose the Import / Export button, the icon in the bottom left of the Vauz window, then Import
Add your files
Drop them on Drop password files here, or choose Choose files. You can add several at once
Unlock an encrypted file
An encrypted file needs the password it was exported with. Vauz tries the one you enter on every locked file. For a file with a different password, use the key button on that file
Choose Import
The button says how many entries will go in, for example Import 12 entries
What wasn't imported
If Vauz couldn't import some entries, it shows how many it imported and lists the ones it didn't, with the reason:
- Already in Vauz: the same entry is already in your vault
- Too long for Vauz: a field is longer than Vauz keeps
- Rows Vauz couldn't read
- Nothing to import: the file or row is empty
- Files that weren't imported: a file Vauz can't read, with the reason beside it
Copy list copies it, to fix those entries by hand
